Who Am I?

I help founders, startups and progressive leaders go from ‘me’ to ‘we‘ – to expand beyond themselves into a scalable, sustainable business with equality as the foundational core.

Some of the things I’ve achieved in almost two decades of entrepreneurship:

  • I’m currently a co-founder of Mission Equality, a UK-based community interest company (CIC), focused on paving a path to equality and building a viable alternative to Capitalism with an ecosystem we call Equalism.
  • I built an 8-figure EdTech business & raised a pre-seed round of $500k in 6 weeks, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. This business was deeply committed to anti-racism and decolonising education, and grew from 2 to 30+ people within 4 months.
  • Since 2005, I have built and lead several remote teams for my own solo businesses, of between 5-15 people, creating cultures based on loyalty and trust before ‘remote’ was even a thing.
  • I pioneered the global, life-changing Location Independent movement (which inspired the likes of Dell to jump on the bandwagon) which garnered international press.

The kind of people I work with know that the current system isn’t broken; it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. But to get somewhere different, we have to do things differently…

And Personally…

You can read more about me here. I use my home here on the internet to share my lived experiences of being an ethnically displaced adoptee.

I explore topics at the intersection of childhood experiences, parenting styles, racism and deliberately disadvantaged groups, and the impact of the system on our ability to be who we are.

Doing Business Differently…

I write and talk about the challenges of ‘Doing Business Differently‘ in a capitalist, patriarchal & systemically racist world, and how that impacts what we’re doing with our startup, Mission Equality.

I share my thoughts and experiences about building a business where equality is the foundation, integrity matters more than profit, and impact (vs intention) trumps everything.
