The backstory…
Over a decade ago I ran the original version of 1K In 1 Day: A one-day push to help 1,000 women build their own WordPress websites, backed by sponsors, with real people on hand to help. It worked because the barrier wasn’t really “how do I build a website?” – it was the confidence to get started, and having someone to ask when they got stuck.
The barrier’s now changed: Building isn’t the hard part anymore – AI has taken care of that. The hard part now is whether you own what you’ve built and what to do if it’s not working as you hoped it would, for you and your business.
This is for you if…
- You’ve used (or nearly used) a Wix/Squarespace/Lovable-style tool and realised afterwards you don’t actually own what you built. Cancel the subscription and your website disappears, totally.
- Your website was built by someone else – an agency, a freelancer, a tool – and you couldn’t confidently explain how it works if asked, or change it when needed without paying more.
- You want direct ownership and control of your digital presence – your own domain, your own hosting – not dependency on a platform you don’t own.

What happens on the day…
One day, run in live blocks, with support on hand throughout – not a video course you watch alone with no-one to ask for help when you need it. You’ll leave with a real WordPress website, on your own domain, on hosting you chose and control – not virtual real estate you’re just renting.
Morning: Establish ownership
Before any building happens: your own domain, your own hosting, set up properly, in your name. This is the step every quick AI builder skips past but it’s the one that determines whether you own anything by the end of the day, or not.
Midday: Build it with AI, properly
Using our recommended theme/builder, Divi AI, to generate your layout, copy, and images straight into a real WordPress site. Built on the hosting you just set up, and not a platform you’re locked into. If you’ve already got a website, this block is a live audit of what’s underneath it. Get it up and running, then tweak and refine it after the first day is done.
Afternoon: Secure it
The vulnerabilities AI-generated sites routinely introduce, and the small number of things that meaningfully reduce risk. Live support from partner specialists for anyone who wants hands-on help.

I don’t have a website yet. Is this still useful?
Yes – you’ll leave the day with one, built and secured properly, rather than assembled quickly and left unattended for months.
I’ve never built a website before. Is this too advanced for me?
No – this is built for exactly that starting point. If you’ve got zero experience, you’ll leave with a working, secured site. If you’ve already got one, you’ll leave knowing whether it’s actually secure and will do the job you need it to.
My site was already built by an agency or an AI tool. Do I need this?
Most likely, yes. Neither an agency nor an AI tool typically explains what you actually own or how exposed it is – that’s precisely what the day addresses.
What time zone is this in?
The times will be based on UK time, but the ‘live’ blocks will be available in time periods adjusted to suit different times zones, and live support will be available to cover most times zones.
What if I can’t attend live?
Everything is recorded and shared afterwards. Live attendance gets you real-time support, which is the main advantage of joining on the day itself.
Is this a lead-in to a sales pitch?
No. This is a genuinely low-cost event; nothing is sold from the stage. If you want a paid expert review of your finished site afterwards, that option exists, but it’s entirely optional.
Why offer this for such a low fee?
Because it’s useful, it’s overdue for a lot of people, and it doesn’t need to be monetised heavily to be worth running. If it leads to further work from some attendees, that’s a welcome outcome but it’s not the primary objective.
Will this cost me anything after the day?
The event itself is just £10, full stop. You’ll need to also purchase a domain name, the divi theme and a hosting service either before or on the day.
If you want a paid expert review of what you’ve built afterwards, that’ll be available as an option but aside from that, your monthly hosting fee is the only ongoing cost.
What happens after 1k In 1 Day?
A single day gets your website live, launched, and secure. Built quickly, even done properly, doesn’t always means built well – the layout, the copy, the way it reads to someone encountering it cold. For those who want a second, expert opinion, book a paid Website Audit afterwards: a thorough review of design, layout, UX and copy, with clear, specific recommendations. Who’s leading 1K In 1 Day?
For over two decades I’ve built and rebuilt businesses – inside global consulting at Accenture, as co-founder of a venture-backed EdTech company that reached an eight-figure valuation, as an interim executive brought into organisations that needed to change quickly and credibly, and as founder of a UK-based CIC.
Throughout this time, I’ve built most of my own websites, and I ran a web dev/design company for over a decade (I’m the techie vs the designer!).
I also spent several years running an online business and training ‘school’ focused specifically on helping women build and own their online infrastructure properly, not just have something that looks finished.
